Dr. Sławomir Borek
Assistant professor at the Department of Plant Physiology, Faculty of Biology, Adam Mickiewicz University Poznań, Poland. He has been studying the effect of sugar starvation on storage compounds metabolism in developing and germinating lupin seeds. Currently, he investigates the autophagy triggered by sugar starvation in embryo axes of lupin germinating seeds. Especially he investigates a regulatory function of asparagine in the course of autophagy. He also looks for the evidence on pexophagy, i.e. autophagic degradation of peroxisomes, in plant cells. He is Deputy Director of the Institute of Experimental Biology for student affairs at the Faculty of Biology of Adam Mickiewicz University Poznan, Poland. From several years he serves as Chief Editor/Academic Editor/Reviewer in a number of international peer-reviewed journals on plant physiology, biochemistry, and agriculture. He got the Publons award 2018 for the top 1% of reviewers.
