He is currently affiliated with the Institute of Crop Sciences, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, China. His research interests include Agronomy, Crop Physiology, Stress Physiology, Seed Physiology, High crop efficiency, Nutrient Use Efficiency, Maize photosynthesis. Being an agronomist, his research emphasis is to explore the nutrient uptake mechanism and their partitioning within the plant body of cereal crops, especially the maize. In addition, his research domain include the canopy level management of field crops aimed at high yielding, crop performance under stressful environments and the identification of mitigation strategies for field crops under stressful environments.
